The Department of Public Works has two core functions: solid waste services (garbage, yard waste, and recycling) and fleet services (maintenance of the City’s motorized vehicles).

The total proposed operating budget for the Department of Public Works is $93,055,839. This is a increase of $1,444,722 (+2%) from the previous year. The number of authorized positions (jobs) is proposed to increase from 666 to 680 (+2%).
