The Department of Transportation plans, designs, constructs, and maintains the city’s streets, sidewalks, and bridges and coordinates with key partners including the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) and the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA).

The total proposed operating budget for Department of Transportation is $58,601,031. This is an increase of $5,111,003 (+9%) from the previous year. The number of authorized positions (jobs) is proposed to increase from 349 to 368 (+5%).
