The Department of Law is vested with exclusive authority and jurisdiction in all matters of law relating to the executive and legislative branches of Atlanta’s city government and every department, office, division, bureau, institution, commission, committee, board, and agency.

The total proposed operating budget for the Department of Law is $24,641,475. This is an increase of $3,094,779 (+14.4%) from the previous year. The number of authorized positions (jobs) is proposed to decrease from 102 to 98 (-3.9%).
