City Council’s FY2026 Budget Priorities

Each year, before the Mayor introduces their proposed budget, members of the Atlanta City Council prepare their own list of priorities. The priorities listed below are taken from Resolution 25-R-3222, adopted on March 17, 2025.

Housing

  • Partner with Invest Atlanta to establish the City of Atlanta Legacy Home Repair Loan Program aimed at supporting long-term homeowners by offering low-interest, non-forgivable loans using funds from the closed Atlanta Station Tax Allocation District (TAD) and the Affordable Housing Trust Fund ($1.5 million from each). The program will provide up to $100K to eligible residents for home repairs, using the home as collateral.
  • Allocate $1 million to fund the Intown Cares Case Manager Program, expanding its neighborhood outreach efforts to address homelessness, assist the unhoused in securing housing, and support neighborhood-specific needs.

Infrastructure/Quality of Life/Sustainability

  • Street resurfacing to achieve state of good repair
  • Sidewalk funding to fill in gaps of existing sidewalks and to keep current sidewalks in a state of good repair
  • Increase funding for traffic calming
  • Increase funding for Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) facility improvements
